Marsiliana is the “grand vin” of the estate, a wine made from the selection of the best grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from estate property vineyards. A smooth, intense wine, it is the maximum expression of the international Bordeaux blend and the deep, warm power of the Tuscan coast.
Tasting and pairing notes:
A drizzle in the woods at sunset in a summer day awakens the forest notes of earth and flowers and Mediterranean pine resin blends with the fragrant aromas of the Maremma hills of Tenuta La Marsiliana where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot vines grow. The charm of dark fruit,mulberries and blueberries, loquats and ripe plums, is amplified by notes of licorice, rhododendron flower and humus, with a touch of marjoram and thyme. The body is centered and the fruit is bodied with the pulp morello cherry, lit in length by a vein of warm sweet spices: A rhythmic and harmonic tannin seduces with a dark chocolate bite. Pairing Chianina meat stew slowly cooked with laurel and juniper.
Fermentation lasts 16 days with a max temperature of 28° C in open air tanks.
